Welcome to The Garden room. Recently redecorated, this spacious room has an intimate outlook into our rear garden, very quiet and containing many bespoke treats.
This room is particularly ornate as it used to be a reception room of the original home. The window used to be a doorway leading to stairs down to the rear garden. It is one of only two guest rooms to contain original working timber window shutters.
The Garden room is decorated with warm, light colours to take full advantage of natural light and designed in a nature theme with an earthy twist.
Some bespoke highlights include a bed head hand-made and designed by Susan showcasing a much loved traditional Ian Sanderson print from The Poppinjay collection aptly called ‘Garden Party’. Susan selected a version in luxury velvet. This archive print features a charming bird in a stylised tree of life. The original design was used as a carpet one would hang on the wall.
At the foot of the bed we have a couple of easy, comfortable chairs underneath a spectacular, unique Spanish nature-themed chandelier. The chandelier in this room is special. A vintage piece, rescued and fully restored to its former glory. LED lights enhance the candle affect, making it shine in the modern age and give the room a warm feel.
The old 60’s radiator was replaced with an ornate, Victorian style cast iron radiator. Super-efficient and used for our winter months but it was incredibly heavy to move into position! It took 4 men and resulted in many sore backs.
The en-suite in this room, again was designed by Susan. A traditional porcelain tiled floor, in a Victorian design, finished with traditional bathroom facilities. The nature-theme continues with LED-lit boxed shelving made from stone and granite.
